“The Pleasure of Your Company” music series invites you to enjoy an afternoon of jazz with the Rob Thorsen Trio onSunday, February 11, at 2:30 PM in the informal and intimate setting of the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center. This award winning group will perform a variety of music including classic jazz, original compositions and more. In addition to acoustical bassist Rob Thorsen, the band includes pianist Hugo Suarez and drummer Richard Sellers. Together they integrate many different music styles that contribute to their modern jazz sound. From Duke Ellington to Wayne Shorter and Miles Davis, the Rob Thorsen Trio weaves together a unique sound that honors the jazz masters while inspiring a fresh approach to this great American art form.
Marina Kantor’s one act, one woman show is a classical piano theatrical performance that takes you on a journey through the history of the Israeli National Anthem Hatikva, a melody of just 25 notes. Marina combines her formal Russian musical training with an international vision of history and art that makes this one woman show a one of a kind preformance.
Proceeds from the United States premier of “Don’t End It On A Minor” will be donated to Cindy’s College Crew Fund, Congregation Beth Israel, to honor the memory of Cindy Polger, who loved creating and maintaining Jewish connection.
