The “Pleasure of Your Company” music series sponsored by the Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library welcomes back Trio Arpavioluta at the informal and intimate setting of the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center. Comprised of flutist Cathy Blickenstaff, harpist Laura Vaughan, and violinist Päivikki Nykter, the musical heritage of these three artists is immediately apparent in their music and rapport. The trio, which has delighted audiences with their performances since 2010, will present a program featuring works by composers ranging from Telemann and Donizetti to Ibert and Cui.
In honor of its 30th anniversary, the San Diego Convention Center will unveil an interactive art exhibit. The team at the Convention Center is creating this pop-up art exhibit in order to lift the roof off the iconic building and show the community how the people behind-the-scenes have been bringing the building to life in the heart of San Diego for three decades.
Beth Israel’s campus brings Jerusalem to San Diego. The theme of the buildings can be summed up as community, connectedness, and holiness through its connection with Jerusalem. The architect and his team felt it was very important to preserve the past while building the future. They spent time in Jerusalem, studying how to bring the feel of the holy city to San Diego.

The annual gala will bring together more than 350 prominent business, social and philanthropic leaders to raise much-needed financial and emotional support for families with critically ill newborns and their families throughout San Diego County. The evening will include dinner, entertainment by Jacqueline Foster’s SHOWDANCE, and a live auction.
Little Menches will be teaching children about respecting and giving back to senior citizens in the community. They will make cards and other crafts for local senior citizens, and then join in a Bingo tournament with the seniors, as well as a sing-a-long led by Cara Freedman. RSVP at LittleMensches@lfjcc.org.
