The “Pleasure of Your Company” music series sponsored by the Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library welcomes back flutist Lori Bell, performing with flutist Suzanne Kennedy and pianist Mikan Zlatkovich, on Sunday, October 16, at 2:30 pm at the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center. They will present “From Bach to Bebop,” a program ranging from classical flute repertoire to fabulous jazz. Lori will be joined for the first half of the program by her flute duo partner, Suzanne Kennedy, to perform works by Bach, Schultz and Kuhlau. The mood will switch during the second part when Mikan Zlatkovich joins Lori to present an exciting jazz set which will include American Songbook standards.
YWCA of San Diego County will present the 10th annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®” fundraising walk. Men, alongside women and children, are invited to walk a mile in heels through downtown San Diego County to increase awareness of domestic violence in the community and help end the pervasive issue once and for all.
