Danny Elfman is of today’s most successful film composers. His famous scores of Tim Burton’s films will be brought to life on stage by orchestra, and enhanced by visuals on the big screen of Burton’s original film sketches, drawings and story boards. Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a time when families and friends come together to pray for and remember loved ones who have passed on, and to help support their spiritual journeys. For this Día de Muertos concert, you’ll experience and relive the music of some of the greatest Mexican musicians of all time, performed by San Diego’s best Mariachi performers and special guests.
This special concert features the joyous sounds of Mariachi Champaña Nevin along with singers, dancers, a special appearance by Aida Cuevas (“The Queen of Ranchera Music”) and hand-crafted alters for the community. Program will include special tributes to Juan Gabriel and José ‘Pepe’ Martinez.
The San Diego Symphony Orchestra does not appear on this program.
