Masters of Hawaiian Music

Four-time Grammy Award winner and slack key guitar virtuoso George Kahumoko Jr. is known as Hawaii’s Renaissance Man. Kahumoko will take the stage with slack key guitarist Kawika Kahiapo and instrumentalist Nathan Aweau to perform a distinctly Hawaiian style of open tunings, along with stories and light-hearted entertainment.

Movie, Lunch and Discussion at Adat Shalom

Please join Temple Adat Shalom for lunch and a screening of "Salam Neighbor" followed by discussion led by Rabbi David Castiglione at Temple Adat Shalom, Fischlowitz Cultural Center. "Salam Neighbor" follows the adventure of two Americans who deliberately head to the edge of war, just seven miles from the Syrian border, to live among 80,000 uprooted refugees in Jordan's Za'atari refugee camp.  As the first film makers allowed by the UN to register and set-up a tent inside a refugee camp, Zach and Chris plunge into the heart of the world's most pressing humanitarian crisis. Donations welcome to offset cost of lunch.

The celebrated banjo players demonstrate seemingly unlimited rhythmic, tonal, and melodic capabilities showcasing the banjo’s versatility for a one-of-a-kind pairing with one-of-a-kind possibilities.

Mitzvah Day at Temple Adat Shalom

Temple Adat Shalom will participate in various community service projects that help to repair the world. The day will end with a delicious pizza lunch, call to action for continued engagement in service and a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate TAS going solar!

smART Festival

Enjoy a vibrant showcase of artwork and performances by Escondido’s students. This celebration of aspiring artists is held in the center’s museum, theaters, and Great Green.
