Tour de Fat at Golden Hill Park

New Belgium Brewing’s Tour de Fat, a traveling celebration of all things bike, is returning to San Diego Saturday, September 24. Tour de Fat will take place in Golden Hill Park offering a day of eclectic entertainment, a costumed bike ride, a gameshow, car-for-bike swap, fashion showdown, great music, and of course plenty of New Belgium beer. The event is free, yet all donations and proceeds from beer and merchandise sales will go to San Diego-area non-profits.

Tables are limited and there’s a special early post time of 11 a.m. The $100 per person dining package includes Turf Club admission and table for the race day, three-course brunch or dinner and bottomless Bloody Marys, Chandon mimosas or champagne.

Craft Beer, Cider and Food Truck Festival at Del Mar Racetrack

Join us for our tastiest two for one ever. We’re pairing our Food Truck Festival with our Craft Beer & Cider Fest. Sample from more than 30 gourmet food trucks and over 100 craft beers and ciders including special fall, winter and pumpkin brews. Cheers to that! There will be other special activities and DJ’s playing music throughout the day. The Beer Fest is held in the Seaside Concert area west of the Grandstand beginning at 12:00 p.m. There is no charge to enter the festival area and it’s open to all ages.

Crossover: Where Comics and Science Meet. Saucer State, X-Files and Alien Life

Join IDW Publishing and the Fleet Science Center to enjoy a local brew and take look at the art, science and technology featured in some of our favorite comics. This month we explore the universe and alien life, featuring Saucer State and X-Files comics. Scientific speakers will be Dr. Shelly Wright, Assistant Professor of Physics, and Dr. Nichola Galitzki, Postdoctoral Scholar, both from CASS (Center for Astrophysics and Space Sciences) at UCSD. Event will be held at the San Diego Comic Art Gallery in Liberty Station from 6:30 to 8 p.m. 2765 Truxtun Rd, San Diego, CA 92106. Cost: $15. Price includes two beers and one comic book from IDW Publishing.
