Crossover: Where Comics and Science Meet. Saucer State, X-Files and Alien Life

Join IDW Publishing and the Fleet Science Center to enjoy a local brew and take look at the art, science and technology featured in some of our favorite comics. This month we explore the universe and alien life, featuring Saucer State and X-Files comics. Scientific speakers will be Dr. Shelly Wright, Assistant Professor of Physics, and Dr. Nichola Galitzki, Postdoctoral Scholar, both from CASS (Center for Astrophysics and Space Sciences) at UCSD. Event will be held at the San Diego Comic Art Gallery in Liberty Station from 6:30 to 8 p.m. 2765 Truxtun Rd, San Diego, CA 92106. Cost: $15. Price includes two beers and one comic book from IDW Publishing.

Shaping Sound

The contemporary dancers who rose to fame on So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars will thrill audiences of all ages with their exhilarating collaboration of explosive choreography, dynamic rhythm, speed, and physical strength, all coming together to give shape and form to sound.

Wounded veterans from Ted Meyer’s exhibition Scarred For Life will join with storytellers from So Say We All for a story slam that shares about their time in the armed forces.
