On Monday, August 21, 2017, The Great American Eclipse will occur in San Diego. We’ll be hosting multiple events at the Fleet Science Center that morning and would love to have you come join us! We’ll also be hosting a number of different run up events and have our resident astronomer, Dr. Lisa Will, available for interview in the days and weeks leading up to the actual event as well.
The eclipse will be visible from 9:07 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on August 21. It will reach its maximum point of eclipse in San Diego at 10:23 a.m. Totality will be visible from other parts of the country, but in San Diego we will only see a partial eclipse. We won’t see another solar eclipse until 2023, so don’t miss this one!
